George H. Baldwin, Jr., CEO
Born in 1946, George has been with the company since 1980. He held several other management positions in the industry prior to joining the firm. George has served 27 years with the United States Marine Corps Reserve and retired with the rank of Colonel. He has a BA degree from the University of Kansas and an MBA in Management from LaSalle University.
Laurence E. Bowes, President
Larry was appointed President of Balford Farms in 2005, nine years after joining Balford Farms in 1996. Having held senior management positions in a variety of disciplines including finance, sales, operational and general management, he has been in the dairy Industry for over 28 years. His work history in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Maryland and California has afforded him a broad management perspective that a diversified geographic background brings. Larry is a Graduate of Penn State University.
David W. Buys, Vice President, Human Resources
Appointed Vice President, Human Resources for Balford Farms in 2006, Mr. Buys has 15 years experience in the food industry, serving in senior management positions for Johanna Foods, Lehigh Valley Dairies, Tuscan Dairies and Johanna Dairies. In addition, Dave has worked in the chemical, specialty chemicals, fibers, plastics and steel industries. Mr. Buys has a BS in Human Resources from The Pennsylvania State University.
Daniel T. Smith, Vice President, Operations
Dan joined Balford as Vice President of Operations as a result of the merger between Quality Dairy Products and Balford Farms in 1996. In 1990 Dan Smith founded Quality Dairy Products and served as President. Prior to Quality Dairy Products he served as Assistant Operations Manager for Abbott's / Pennbrook Dairies for more than seven years. Dan is a graduate of St. Joseph University with a degree in Food Marketing.
Robert E. Venafra, Vice President, Finance
Robert Venafra joined Balford Farms in 1983 as Controller and currently serves as Vice President, Finance. Prior to Balford Farms he was employed by Peat Marwick Main and Company. A graduate from Drexel University with a BS in Accounting and he received his certification as a CPA in 1981. Robert also serves as a faculty member for the Bucks County Community College Business Department.
Wayne E. Baldwin, Vice President, IT
Wayne Baldwin has been with Balford Farms since 1979 and has served in various management positions. Wayne has been responsible for the organizations' Information Systems since 1987. Wayne currently directs an IT department employing various operating systems, custom system applications, voice recognition, electronic billing, communications programming and data warehousing.
